Old Milk Barn

Old Milk Barn 10"X8" Oil on Linen Board

I was painting en plein air yesterday at the Vista D’oro Farms and Winery, Langley BC. Pictured here is an old milk barn. Fresh milk was regularly stored inside the sunken concrete well, located inside of this small building. The well was filled with cold water from an underground stream running through the property, a pulley system was utilized to place the milk cans into the cool water to keep the milk. A very picturesque spot where the owner’s Patrick and Lee have proudly kept the old buildings standing.
